National Business Development Manager (AU)
About Us
At Basis, we’re not just building a company — we’re building the future. We’re redesigning the electrical systems that power our homes to fight climate change, reduce household costs, and create a better future for generations to come. That means rethinking everything, not just what we build, but how we build it.
To do this, we need incredible people. People who are bold, creative, sharp, and thoughtful. People who care. People who move fast and think differently. That’s where you come in.
The Role
The National Business Development Manager (AU - Developer Channel) will spearhead Basis’ expansion into Australia by owning go-to-market execution across residential developers and large home-building programmes. This role is accountable for building a repeatable developer sales motion—anchoring early wins, establishing specification pathways, and creating scalable partnerships with the organisations that influence what gets installed in new homes.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial ANZ, this role blends sales execution, partner development, and market-building. You will be the voice of the Australian developer channel internally and a trusted, commercial presence externally—helping Basis become the smart energy infrastructure partner of choice for new builds.
Some of the things that you might be involved in include:
Build Basis’ presence in priority Australian states by developing and executing a developer-channel go-to-market strategy across developers, large builders, BTR operators, and their delivery ecosystem.
Own and execute the full sales cycle for developer-channel opportunities, from prospecting and discovery through to negotiation and signed commercial commitments.
Define target segments, priority accounts, and pathways from first project wins to multi-project programme rollouts.
Translate on-the-ground market insights into internal guidance on pricing, procurement norms, compliance requirements, and competitive positioning.
Develop and articulate compelling ROI and value propositions for developers, focused on standardisation, electrification readiness, homeowner experience, and long-term scalability.
Build and deepen relationships with key delivery partners, including electrical contractors, consultants, and specifiers who influence panel selection and adoption.
Co-create scalable adoption models with developers and partners, including preferred specifications, panel standardisation, training, and install-readiness frameworks.
Coordinate cross-functional internal teams (commercial, product, marketing, operations) to maintain deal momentum and ensure consistent follow-through.
Provide structured field feedback to Product and Marketing, sharing learnings that improve spec-in success, repeatability, and conversion across the ANZ commercial team.
A comprehensive job description is available here.
Please note; as this is our first Australian sales hire, you will be expected to travel regularly across the main centres. Our ideal candidate will be based in either Sydney, or Melbourne.
